Terms of service
The agreement between you and Spokenwork for using Spokenwork.
Effective 2026-10-05. These terms are between you and Spokenwork ("we"), British Columbia, Canada.
1. The service
Spokenwork transcribes audio and video you upload and generates written content from the transcript, for a per-use fee. Output is produced by automated systems and may contain errors; review it before you publish it.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older and provide a working email address. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your account. One starter credit per person.
3. Fees and credit
- Prices are in Canadian dollars and listed on the pricing page. We may change prices with notice on that page; changes never apply to credit already spent.
- Credit is prepaid and does not expire. You are charged only for transcription that completed and writing that was delivered.
- Unused purchased credit is refundable within 30 days of purchase, less payment-processing fees. Starter credit is not refundable or redeemable for cash.
- Tax is added where applicable.
4. Your content
- You keep all rights to your recordings and to the output. We claim none.
- You confirm you have the right to upload the recording, including any consent needed from people in it.
- You may not upload content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that identifies patients or clients in a way that would breach health-privacy law.
- We may refuse or remove content that breaks these rules and may suspend accounts used for abuse, fraud or attacks on the service.
5. Your API keys
If you add your own provider keys, your use of those providers is governed by your agreement with them and you are responsible for the fees they charge. We store keys encrypted and use them only to run your jobs.
6. Availability
We aim for the service to be available at all times but do not guarantee it. Jobs interrupted by a fault on our side are not charged.
7. Limits of liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or losses caused by errors in generated output that you published without review.
8. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may close accounts that break these terms, refunding unused purchased credit unless the breach involved fraud or abuse.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes are emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada. Disputes are heard in the courts of British Columbia.
